Seriously . . . this is an upgrade?

Post by jwagon »

Has anyone else experienced a lot of random crashes with the 3.x releases?

I never get a crash log, I just get this in the console:

ObjCJava FATAL:
jobjc_lookupObjCObject(): returning garbage collected java ref for objc object of class ch/cyberduck/core/sftp/SFTPPath
ObjCJava Exit

WTF?

2.x was great, but I'm sitting here losing work several times a day since the 3.x upgrade. I'm about two seconds from switching to Transmit, or just going back to good old-fashioned CLI scp.

Specifics:

OS X 10.4.11
Cyberduck 3.0.1 (3999)
Textmate
Contacting remote server via scp over plain old Cisco VPN

All of this worked seamlessly in 2.x.

Any help would be appreciated.

I've been using cyberduck for about 2 years now, and this recent update has forced myself and coworkers to look for alternatives for ftp/sftp connectivity.
The crashes we experience daily are unbearable. We've have had a few files zero'd out on crashes.

This product prior to this version 3.0.1 rocked! The drawer is also a very missed feature.

I must agree. I loved the version two. Here are the issues I have been having.

It randomly crashes. This NEVER happened with version 2.

I am missing the drawer. That sucks cause that was one of my favorite things (i switch servers a lot cause i have code all over the place).

I work with Textmate directly out of cyberduck, so I often have multple files open that I am editing directly on the server with cyberduck. The main problem now is that I only "expand" folders (use the arrow instead of opening the directory. Now whenever I upload a file in Textmate it closes all my arrows and only opens the first level of what I had open. THIS SUCKS... My working environment was awesome before. Now I feel handcuffed and shafted...

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE fix the current "stable" release...

I wholeheartedly agree. I get the same error messages in the Console as the OP, and I'm sick and tired of losing time while working. Given that the alternatives on Mac OS X are pretty crappy, I've been forced to downgrade to Cyberduck 2.8.5.

I also miss the drawer. Please bring it back in the 3.x branch, as well as fix the stability problem!
