Where do I configure sounds?
Also, some people dislike the default duck sounds, include information about sound packs off the xtras site.
Sounds
Go to preferences from the adium menu, then click the "Events" tab. From the drop down list titled "Sound set" you can change from pre-configured sound packs listed here. Additional sound packs can be downloaded from the Adium Xtras website (Adium menu->Adium Xtras or http://www.adiumxtras.com). Simply double click the sound sets after downloading them to install, they will then appear in this list.
If you wish to use your own sounds or a mix of sounds from different sound sets select "Custom" from the drop down list. Then, on the individual actions listed in the space below (for example "Contact signs on") select the action you wish to assign a sound and hit "+" in the bottom left corner. From the list "Action" select "Play a sound". In the drop down list beneath, your installed sound sets and their respective sounds are shown. You can also click "Other.." from the end of the list to choose any sound you like. Hit "OK" and you're done.
