synchronize

My trouble with synchronize is that everytime I use it, not only does it upload the whole site again, it doesn't seem to overwrite what's already there. I only have a limited amount of space available on the server and am using 99% of it, so when I use synchronize it starts to give failure messages once it hits the max.
