Cyberduck Hell...

Post by shell »

Hi all,
I'm new to ftp and Cyberduck, I thought creating my own website would be relatively painless but no!
I'm using a macbook (which I have to disable firewall to connect to server) iWeb to create website and Mr Site as host.

I have managed to connect to server and folders are in wwwroot folder but each has red circle and 0 B.The folders keep disappearing and I get grey spinner bottom left corner and transfer window - transfer complete - but it's not - so I double click in the transfer window to kick start again. Is that how it's supposed to work?

Contents of wwwroot folder:
Folders: Site (my iWeb created stuff), js (i have no idea) & images (something iWeb must have created).
& one index.html file.

In the transfer window images folder says Transfer complete 14.6KB of 14.6KB. However folder is showing 0 B, there is 22 gif files in there and an auxh folder empty that I don't recognise... My original folder only has 3 gif files..

js folder is empty

Transferring my Site folder is giving me hell. It gets to 2.1MB of 12.3MB (was 12.4 - not sure what happened....) and I get cannot create folder (happens frequently at other stages too) then I get Transfer incomplete, then Transfer complete, then overwrite, which i click and get i cant remember how many kb's of 109MB (folder getting smaller) eventually i get overwrite 0B of 12.3... I'm back to the beginning.... again and again.

Can anyone shed ANY light?? Help much appreciated, something that from the threads I've googled should not take very long is taking me way over a week...

Thanks
