Nope. I deleted the whole input manager folder. There was one other thing in there (SIMBL, from when I used Taboo), but I don't use it anymore, so I deleted it, too.boredzo wrote:

Well, there are two of those. The other is in the Library folder in your Home folder. I'm not sure whether that one still works in Leopard, but maybe you should check it.MacMom wrote:Nope. I deleted the whole input manager folder.boredzo wrote:Do you use any other input manager hacks?

What version of Mac OS X are you using?
Try this:
What is the exact size in bytes of the file?
- Right-click on the disk image file in the Finder, and choose “Get Info”.
- Find the field that says “Size”. There are two sizes here: one approximate size, and one exact size (the latter being always reported in bytes).
I've been using DAP for Downloads. The exact file size was given as 862 bytes.BUT-
Today I disabled DAP and DLed Growl 1.1.4 using Safari.I got the Disk Image to mount properly, went to Install it and got as far the last part of the Install pane, where I'm getting this message-
'Install Failed. The Installer encountered an unknown error that failed the install.Contact the software manufacturer for assistance'
So I tried via Firefox, and everything was fine, succesfull install. But perhaps you ought to know about the above....
Re: Growl 1.1.4
The installation will fail if we have growl preference pane open. The System Preferences will also close.boredzo wrote:

Re: Growl 1.1.4
I have the same issue. Today I've upgraded Growl to 1.1.4 and I've also installed Growlmail for the first time. I've ticked "Enable GrowlMail" and "Show every email individually" then I restarted Growl. But I'm not getting notifications upon new emails, although the notifications from the other applications are popped up correctly by Growl.darbpunk wrote:I'm having issues with getting 1.1.4 to work with Leopard's Mail.app. In 1.1.3 there was an alert that said that GrowlMail wasn't compatible.... I downloaded 1.1.4 today in hopes it would start working. All other apps trigger the Growl Notifications. Any thoughts?
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, went to GrowlMail preferences and made sure the setting in there were checked to: "Enable GrowlMail", "Show every email individually" and I have by account checked to "active".
Is there a command line I can use in terminal to force it to work?
Cheers!
Dan.
Have you solved your issue ? If yes, how ?
Thanks in advance
Re: Growl 1.1.4
Ourah now it works. Although I already restarted Mail.app after installing GrowkMail, it seems that I had to restart again after enabling the notifications in the Mail.app preferences. The "Enable GrowlMail" isn't dynamic.
Re: Growl 1.1.4
Updated from 1.1.3 to 1.1.4. Have rebooted since.
I use HardwareGrowler and have sound notification for Switched to A/C Power and Switched to Battery Power events.
I put my MacBook Pro running 10.4.11 to sleep when attached to power. Unattached from power while asleep. Woke up.
1) Got an error dialog "Could not load sound file "Submarine"". Submarine is the sound file I play when switching to battery power
2) CPU was pegged. top showed it was GrowlHelperApp running at 97% CPU
Here is the sample output for 10 seconds:

Re: Growl 1.1.4
There is no input manager in my the Library folder of my Home folder. I actually checked that last night, and I checked again this morning. Just for good measure (remembering my "recovered files" experience), I deleted the input manager from my Previous systems folder.boredzo wrote:Well, there are two of those. GrowlSafari is still not working. All my other Growl notifications are working fine.
Oh, and I am still on OS 10.4.11, not Leopard.

It should be, as GrowlMail just uses the regular defaults system.nwi wrote:The "Enable GrowlMail" isn't dynamic.
Re: Growl 1.1.4
So I totally uninstalled (and got rid of everything that was connected with Growl) and reinstalled Growl 1.1.4 and GrowlSafari and GrowlSafari is still not working. Kind of frustrating.
Also, is there some reason why my "General" and "Applications" tabs on the Growl Preference pane appear different than it is shown in the documentation on the Growl website? Is it cause I still have Tiger?

Re: Growl 1.1.4
Okay, the "Install failed" is not fixed, at least not for me. I'm running Leopard 10.5.3 and had Growl 1.1.3 (I DID eventually manage to get it installed when it went to .3, but I can't remember how). This time, I opened up the package contents and found the preferences panel manually. That worked just fine.
As for GrowlMail, it's always worked for me in Leopard, as far as I can remember. I know it was working in Growl 1.1.3.

Re: Growl 1.1.4
It is fixed. I know this because I figured out what was causing it and I fixed that problem, and because I could reproduce the problem with 1.1.3 and cannot reproduce it with 1.1.4.Sorcerer8605 wrote:Okay, the "Install failed" is not fixed, at least not for me.
The “Install Failed” problem that you and Evan have experienced is a different problem with a different cause. I don't know what that cause is and I have no leads. The bug report I filed with Apple still stands.
Re: Growl 1.1.4
Same problems as MacMom, I am also running 10.4.11, followed all the steps in previous posts.
Growl appears to work for everything else happily, GrowlSafari also works for notification of RSS
feeds, but does not display download info.

Re: Growl 1.1.4
how come the notification message to update Growl doesn't go away like other messages? and, failing that, since i can see that it sort of makes sense to make sure people are aware of an update - how come it allows itself to spam messages?
i've just logged onto my mac mini in my lounge that i use for a media server and from time to time as a dvd player and was confronted with the attached screenshot. which is a bit overkill isn't it?

Incidentally, we do use an identifier, so the notification should only appear once. That it doesn't suggests that the bug is in the coalescing code.

Re: Growl 1.1.4
I downloaded 1.1.4 and now I can't delete the disk image. I've already tried uninstalling Growl, but is asks "where is x file?" and I have no idea where those files are; I tried spotlighting them and found nothing. The uninstall seemed to continue anyway. I then made sure to drag the install package to my desktop before installing - and I still can't delete the disk image!
Re: Growl 1.1.4
You need to eject it first. Click the Eject button in Finder's sidebar.cmyked wrote:I downloaded 1.1.4 and now I can't delete the disk image.
Had you installed Growl first? Otherwise, I'm not sure why you ran the uninstaller.I've already tried uninstalling Growl, but is asks "where is x file?" and I have no idea where those files are; I tried spotlighting them and found nothing. The uninstall seemed to continue anyway.
Why?I then made sure to drag the install package to my desktop before installing …

Re: Growl 1.1.4
Hi,
my growl is still notyfing me about an update. I already have 1.1.4 and I also downloaded and installed 1.1.4 again after some days of the release.
But I don't have this spam problem like illitrate (some posts above). It's just like in "1.1.3". (Also I didn't realy understood where it still was 1.1.2 and wherer not, but I think this doesn't matter)
Sorry, I didn't wrote this earlyer.
I'm using OS X 10.4.11 (PPC)
