I hate dock movement

Post by The_Tick »

Adium is trying to hypnotize me with it's wing movements, and subtle name calling from it's backside. How can I make Adium just.. not do anything in the dock?

To stop the dock icon from animating you will need to go to preferences-events and change the notifications so that the desired action is selected

You can't actually stop the alert state (wings flapping in the default icon) without editing the dock icon pack's .plist file, for now anyways.
The duck still burns.

To stop the dock icon from bouncing when you receive a new message you need to edit Adium's events. Begin by opening the preferences which can be found in the Adium menu or by typing comand+comma. Go to the events pane, and look for the event in the list called "Message received". Expand the event by clicking the triangle to it's right. You should now see the events associated with it and one of them should be "Bounce dock icon once" (or bounce dock icon" followed by how often it bounces), click on it and than click the minus button at the bottom of the page. This will remove this item from the preferences and adiums dock will stop bouncing for each new message.

I know, I didn't know what else to say.

Expand the event. You should now see the events associated with it...

Is that specific enough?
