MSN Fails to Connect "Password Sent (75%)
Gday,
First time Poster, Long time user etc etc.
I have a Stranger Issue, I have 4 machines in front of me (ubba nerd) and just yesterday, my main machine (OSx 10.5.3) stopped connecting with the error "Password Sent (75%) and it then reconnects continuously.
What makes it strange, is all over 3 machines are fine, using the same accounts etc, it connects fine.
I have tried,
- Totally removing Adium, getting the latest version (already had the latest) .. same error
- Totally removing Adium, and installing Amsn (same error)
- Cleared FW
- Cleared Router Forwards (used for logs)
- Created new MSN name / Account no good.
- Got a new IP from my router
- Removed Router from the system and plugged it directly into the Cable Modem
- Tried Connecting Via HTTPS
All this, nothing has helped!
I have ran out of things to do now, any suggestions would be great!

Ive been having the same problem all day as well. I was on 1.2.4 and upgraded to 1.2.5, same problem. I tried deleted and reinstalling adium, same problem. I tried other MSN clients, they all can login, adium cant.
I'm using OSX 10.5.3.

I'm having the same problem. Was using version 1.3b3 (with msnp15) then downgraded to 1.3b2. Using Microsoft Messenger works fine.
Edit: Looks like it might be the server, MSN.com isn't working.

Remove any msn related entries from /etc/hosts if you added some for the temporary dns fix for pre 10.5.3.

Re: MSN Fails to Connect "Password Sent (75%)
Load Terminal
When loaded
SU - (it will then ask you for root password)
Then
cd \etc
Then
pico hosts
Then remove the crap lines at the bottom

Re: MSN Fails to Connect "Password Sent (75%)
I'm not sure if it's the same problem, but I'm not getting a "fail to connect" message, just MSN won't connect at all. Keeps retrying. I haven't messed around with the hosts file at all.

Yes, me too.
I am trying the Terminal-command method mentioned in this post, but when I enter my password, it showed "SU: Sorry".

I am afraid if you can not use my instructions, then this may be a little too technical for you.. do you guys / gals have some really nerdy / Linux friends ?
As if you kill or stuff up the hosts file you are in deep doodo!
