Changing Growl notification volume

Post by Rob G »

Hi,

I'm a new Mac user, and so new to Growl too. By the way, I love it!

I've been playing around with my sound settings in order to get the right balance between system-generated sounds and other sound like iTunes and movie output. In order to achieve the right balance, within the Sound Preferences pane, I have reduced "Alert volume" and increased "Output volume". This gives a nice boost to the output from, for example iTunes, without making system-generated alerts too loud at the same time. However, it seems that the volume of Growl notifications is not affected by the "Alert volume" control in sound preferences. What this means is that if I turn up the general output volume in order to boost by iTunes output, I also get vary loud Growl notifications.

I've looked in Growl prefs and there doesn't seem to be anything relating to sound or volume. Is there a way I can control notification volume without affecting the volume of sound from other apps like iTunes?

Thanks in advance,

Rob
