When signing onto MSN in Adium 1.3 (stable release) a number of my contacts on my list do not show up in the contact list (the group count still counts those not shown). I have set to only hide my blocked and mobile contacts (none of the hidden contacts are mobile or blocked) when changing to show all contacts the missing contacts reappear, the will also reappear if they sign on. When signing off these contacts do not disappear from my list they stay there as offline contacts even though I am no longer connected to any IM services. On reopening Adium the contact list is blank as expected, but on reconnecting to MSN the contacts are not there even though Adium is set to show all contacts.
I have started fresh by removing the Application Support folder for Adium along with the Preference file and still observe the same behaviour.
Is there a setting I am missing somewhere to ensure all my contacts are shown or is this a bug in Adium?

Something similar happens to me too. But I recognized that Adium is hiding my combined contacts. It is showing all ICQ contacts and all MSN contacts, but contacts which i combined with both ICQ and MSN don't appear. Even if I only connect one of the IM there are still missing these contacts. I have to say, that the contacts are in my addressbook, that my have some different behaviour too. And if clicking View->Show all... or View->Hide all... then the Contacts will appear. But somehow this is really confusing.

Something similar here too. I think you nailed it.....it's having problems showing contacts that are combined. The View -> Show Offline Contacts works if you select it....but if you quit adium and log back in, those combined contacts don't show up.Aguan wrote:Something similar happens to me too. Something is messed up with 1.3 and the contact list.

Re: Anomalies with 1.3 contact list
I am experiencing an odd behavior whereas Offline contacts do not stay visible. Makes no matter what View menu choices are made… each launch of Adium v1.3 has Offline contacts invisible. Toggling the Show/Hide Certain Contacts brings back the Offline contact list as does toggling Show/Hide Offline Groups.
This behavior was not present prior to v1.3… Jim

That seems to be what is happening to me aswell, although I don't have any combined contacts. If I untick Combine contacts listed on a single card the problem no longer occurs.netnothing wrote:Something similar here too.
