can't contact some friends

i have a strange problem with some msn contacts(a few)... when i contact them after a while it appears a message saying: can't send the message cause the contact is offline(something similar cause i have the italian localization). if they contact me all it works and i can chat normally, but if we don't speak for a few/long (i don't know) time i can't contact him again having the same error as before
hope what i said is comprehensive... any suggestion to solve it?

i reinstall the same version downloading it again and changing my OS language to have adium in english, thinking that the original language can have less bug than the translated one. at the moment the problem seems to not be anymore...
