Forgets Custom Away Message...

Post by jonathan123 »

Adium (since 1.3.2 IIRC) has been forgetting the custom away message I set. So I set it, then come back and later want to set it to the same/similar message, but it gives me a blank dialog.

Hate to bump, but this disappointed me too. I hope the change isn't intentional.

Did you check "Save Custom Status" in the Custom Status window?

That's not quite what I'm getting at. What I mean is that any text entered in the status text box is not saved the next time I want to set 'away.' If I want to reuse the previous status' text, I have to retype it manually. In previous versions of Adium text from the preceding status carried over into the next status change's text box.

'Save Custom Status' is technically a solution. For someone like me that changes away messages every week or so, though, the preceding idea is much more efficient.

Spamguy: Precisely.
I normally change part of my away and leave some other part there... So it was nice when Adium pre-filled this in.

An alternative if this doesn't come back is to Option-click your current status in the "Status" menu (or in the Contacts list).

This works, but I always used Command-Y to change/set my away so I'd prefer it to be pre-filled still.

Ok, one more note, it would seem that Option-Command-Y now accomplishes this... problem solved I suppose :)

Took me awhile to actually try this myself. Dunno what you're doing, but opt-cmd-Y does nothing on my computer.
