Smart status?

Post by Jay Levitt »

I'd like my Mac to start being smarter about what I'm doing and what it implies. For instance, when I'm at "work", I want Adium to sign on with my work account, and set my "play" account to show "busy working"; when I'm at "home", I want the work account to sign off. And I want the opposite, too; I'd like certain iCal events to automatically set my status ("at lunch, back at 1pm", etc.)

I saw the suggestion for a "status change of self" event in trac ticket #4294, but there aren't any immediate plans for that. Is there another way to accomplish what I'm trying to do? Is there some "global status" application, the inverse of Growl, that would control Adium?

I could swear there's an app that does this. You might just do a search on macupdate.
