Sticky in Omnifocus

Post by ronmanwri »

My notifications from Omnifocus disappear after 10 seconds, even though I've tried everything to get them to remain. Any ideas? Thanks!

How are you setting the sticky bit?

By enabling Notifications for Omnifocus in the Growl preferences, and choosing for them to "Always" stay on screen.

Am I doing something wrong? I am new to this.

Thanks so much!

Nope, that should be all you need to do.

The notifications come up fine, but don't stay--they disappear after about 10 seconds.

What else can I try?

Thanks.

Bezel at the moment, but I'll use anything that will work!

Thanks.

Ah, that's the problem. Bezel is queue based, and doesn't work with sticky. Try smoke

Get a screenshot step-through on here showing how you are configuring stay on screen.

I'm afraid you've reached the limits of my knowledge--can you tell me how to do that?

By the way, I just noticed that I get a pop-up when Omnifocus does an automatic backup, and it DOES stay until I click on it. DOES that help any?

Thanks so much!

Oh ok, you're just configuring sticky for that single notification and not the whole app. I think we changed it from allowing sticky on the entire app because we thought people would only want a limited amount of things from a single app always on screen. Make sense?

Sorry to be dense, but I don't quite follow you. The backup notification is insignificant to me--what I want are the due times for actions in Omnifocus to trigger a pop-up (which they do now) and STAY until I click them (which they don't).

Thanks for all your time and effort.

Hold everything--it's working!!

I didn't realize that the drop-down with the automatic backup listed was one where you set the options for each of the drop-down items separately.

Thanks again for your patience--mission accomplished!

Yep, each application can have however many notifications they want (look at adium's list, it's ginormous) so we decided that the best route was to let the user choose what they wanted to be sticky in general.
