Help with Adium

Hey..

When im using adium on my mac, i get this wierd messege: "hey how you been. Can you message me on nikki.sinclair07998@hotmail.com This one the cam and pics do not work. Hope to catch up soon."
When im blocking the person, im just getting the messege from another mail.. Sometimes the messege is different from the messege i just poseted..
This have never happend when im jusing msn on my pc.. any1 who can help?!?!

Have you set your «Confidentiality...» settings ? (mine is in french, and the menu item is Confidentialité, so I guess in english it's confidentiality...) It's just below «Preferences...» in the Adium menu.

Now ive set it to only letting people on my contact list to contact me..

But still i wonder if its someting on my mac?
And how the he** he got my e-mail?

I actually have exactly the same problem and it is very annoying. The messages I got vary a bit though. I get it when I'm using Adium on my MBP at home or Pidgin on LInux at work. When I use Live Messenger or Mac Messenger I don#t get them.

I'm happy that Im not the only one with this problem cos so far, googeling for the messages didn't really give me results.

The problem that on Pidgin, there is not the option to allow messages only from contacts that are in my contact list.

I had the same problem and made a change in the "integrity preferences" (directly translated from swedish). Since I changed the level to "only allow some contacts" I haven't gotten a single spam message...like the one from "nikki".

Yup, did that too, with the personal settings think.. havent got anything since.. thanks ...

Still i wonder, as i said, how he/she/they, (whatever), got my mail
