Mac OS X 10.5.6
perian 1.1.3 (set to Multi-Channel Output)
Quicktime Pro Version 7.5.5 (249.24)
Format: H.264, 1280 x 528, Millions
DTS Coherent Acoustics, 5.1 (C L R Ls Rs LFE), 48.000 kHz
I've tested 5 mkv movies:
All had H.264 with DTS listed as the format in Movie Inspector.
The Video Format option "Pass Through" was only available in one file of the five.
The Audio Format in all tests only gives me the option of None and AAC-LC (music) and the options of Mono or Stereo in the channels.
This one may be a quicktime issue, not sure. One file had two audio tracks, one Vorbis the other DTS. It defaults to the Vorbis track, the dts track is listed under languages but I am unable to select it.
converting mkv to mp4 issues
Re: converting mkv to mp4 issues
Since I've received no reply.... Is this to be expected? Could I be doing something wrong?
Re: converting mkv to mp4 issues
You need to be patient, you haven't received a reply in less than 24 hours.
Re: converting mkv to mp4 issues
QuickTime issue. If you want to force the DTS track, try deleting the vorbis track. As per the passthrough, mp4 only supports passthrough in certain situations.
I must also re-iterate, be patient, we have other things in our lives and thus a project we do for free cannot circumvent our obligations.

Re: converting mkv to mp4 issues
ok thanks. But what about the audio conversion? Shouldn't it be possible to output multiple channel audio from a dts track?
