Perian compatible with m2t hdv ?

Perian compatible with m2t hdv ?

I'm not sure it due to Perian, but when I double click an hdv video files with a .m2t extension it played in Quicktime ! I was quite sure it didn't but anyway I was wondering if one day M2TS (known as AVCHD) will be taken by Perian ?
