Quicktime does not play FLV

Hi All. I installed Perian on my Macbook pro, downloaded an FLV file as per instructions, installed Perian as per instructions but Quicktime will notplay the file.It gives message: not a movie file. I actually do not see a Perian icon anywhere yet it did say installed etc. Exactly where is it? It is not listed in applications. Any ideas would be appreciated.

For reasons unknown to me it now works!
