When will audio/video chat be available?

Hi,
i read something about audio/video chat on adiumx.com but it was not really satisfying. Does anybody know if and in this case when this feature will be available in a future release? I mean a native feature, not as a plugin (as far as I know there is already the possibility to do this..)

Work will start at the earliest when Pidgin's VV has a stable API.
