Facebook Issues on 1.3.3

since using RC2 and the final all the facebook buddies now show with just a generic buddy icon rather then as before with their picture. I tried rebooting and tried doing a get info on them and all that did was add the names onto the buddy numbers. Also I keep getting logged out of facebook website when i log on in Adium. That is with firefox 3.0.6. i can relog back in and be on both but then it disconnects the website shortly after.

I've never used Facebook, but are you saying it has a web based messenger (I'm assuming this is why the Adium team added it to Adium) and that signing into both Adium and it on Facebook causes problems? I would think that would be expected. It's like signing into the same messenger, but with two different programs. The two would conflict, I imagine.

I believe the same happens if you sign onto AIM on Adium, then try to use iChat, which also uses AIM. One would disconnect the other.

On my buddy list with the previous version of adium my facebook buddies names would be there screen names, now when someone signs on its just that users ID number instead of there name. And if they dont have a profile picture you really have no idea whom it is.

My problem with Facebook on Adium 1.3.3 is that I don't receive a message if a user is beginning the conversation. I can see that their icon is changing to the "Buddy is typing..." but after that nothing happens. If I login to the Facebook website I can see their messages in the integrated chat function.

Mine is the same..the only way i was able to get the names back was doing a "get info" on them and then it loaded their name. Still no icons tho asides from the generic. I do however have one friend on facebook who still has a picture load. The rest all the generic facebook icons. All this worked fine on 1.3.3RC2 and still works fine on that ..the 1.3.3RC3 and the final have the problems.

The problem regarding missing aliases has been reported in http://trac.adiumx.com/ticket/11676. If you have any information to add that might help "evands" fix the issue, please do!

If you just hover the persons name comes up and the user ID is next to it, in parenthesis . Don't recall if it was before or after the update, but about half the time when chatting the chat session wouldnt load in aduim only on the facebook page. Haven't tried chatting without the webpage being open. Reconnecting aduim did work previous to get chats to load in the IM.

seems to be whatever tweaks were put into the last RC is what broke all this ..RC1 works fine as well as 1.3.2..I switched back to that as I am stumped on what the problem is an could really use that working for now.

Ah, if you go under View, then Contact Name Format, change it to Alias and then you'll see people names.

The ticket is now closed for the facebook userid thing. It says it was fixed. How do I fix it? When I click it brings to me to a page of code? What do I do with it?

Wait for a new release which has the fix.
