Adium Xtras Comments Moderation

Post by Boramor »

Hi,

I would really like to see some moderation options for the Adium Xtras page. A lot of people file bugreports in the comments, and as I have fixed them, I don't want these comments there anymore. I would like to be able to change my comments as well (my own that is!).

Is this possible? It's driving me nuts.

I'd also like to add something as a note for the X(tras) people. I love contributing to X(tras) (as I just contributed a lot of new stuff), but I'm not a fan of sharing my e-mail address to everyone. I know that there is an option where you don't have to show your e-mail address on your profile, and that's awesome. The thing is, however, whenever you post a comment, it will put your e-mail address as a link on the comment, regardless of whether you have the 'show e-mail' option on or off. Right now, to avoid that obstacle, I log off, post a comment, and log back on, which is fine, since logging off and logging in is a piece of cake. But, at some point, I'd like to not have to worry about my e-mail being shown whenever I don't log out. But no rush, as I'm doing fine for now.

Au revoir,
Quincy

Reporting them to the mods won't work, for they don't know that I fixed the problem that the comment is about.

It's just that I want to be able to delete those comments, or PM the commenter to do it.

I will now, won't I?

If you give a detailed description of the update, then report the comment, what's the problem?

Personally I like keeping those comments there, because it shows that I do care about what people think, and I think people appreciate it when you take their ideas seriously. I suggest just posting a comment to let people know "Ok I fixed that for you guys."

Yeah, I do that, but it's just that it makes it so cluttered with comments which I'd rather have as an e-mail as I suggest in my description of the extra.

But I will do as you tell me, for it is wise.

Thanks.

We won't delete comments unless they are offensive in nature. If someone has an older version of your xtra, and they see these comments, they'll know to upgrade the xtra.
