Correct (libpurple).JML wrote:I believe that I read that your program uses Pidgin / Libpurple,
These dates they put on their milestone have to be taken with a grain of salt. They are making good progress but a release is still a bit off. 2.6.0 will be released first – without V/V.JML wrote:and looking at their website, they state that Voice and Video support should be ready in about 7 days (83% complete).
1. Again, you can't take this milestone information a 100 percent seriously. The Adium 1.4 milestone is pretty correct but not 1.5, 2.0 etc.JML wrote:*If* it is finished in 7 days, and officially supported a short time later, will Adium have A/V right away, or will we have to wait until your milestone, Adium 2.0?

You're welcome. I hope this gives you a better idea.JML wrote:Thanks
An amazing program, with an amazing look, with tons of customization, AND great customer service...I hope this gives you a better idea.
Adium is an open source program, not a commercial one striving to generate an income and be a big company..JML wrote:However, just so you know, if you ever want to be a big business, you must provide a buggy software (it helps to charge money and then charge more money to upgrade it to a less buggy version), provide customer service when you feel like it, normally wait 3-5 business days to respond... and be vague or no help, and keep your users in a bent over position. Oh, and make sure that you act like you don't really need them, but be polite about it. Automated messages work well for that, such as "we appreciate you" and under that "do not reply, this is a automated e-mail".I hope this gives you a better idea.
Haha, I know its open source, I was just poking fun at how different the two operate. Honestly though, of all of the open source software I use/used, Adium and Firefox are by far the best (and I know that they are not related organizations, and that the for-profit subsidiary, Mozilla Corp appears to be becoming a big business... $75 million in revenue!!!). The only main thing I would like to see in Adium is webcam support.David Munch wrote: Adium is an open source program, not a commercial one striving to generate an income and be a big company..
Regarding VV in Adium, I believe some UI has been done in the VV branch. But how much of that is usable now.. Well..
And regarding the Pidgin milestone for VV; If you read through the tickets you'll see that they are all minor bugs, except the main bug ticket for VV. So 83% doesn't tell you anything at all.
