I can't open my contact list

Post by LevaM »

Hi,

When I am connected, if i try to open my contact list, anything happens.
When I try to add a contact, why can I only choose betwenn ICQ, AIM or .mac and not MSN or other ?

My OS X version is 10.3.8

Thanks

Leva

I had a similar problem this morning. When I went to bed, my buddy list was showing on my desktop. When I woke up, I was still connected, but my buddy list had disappeared, I couldn't figure out how to make it visible again, and I had to sign off and back on to get it to show up.

What's going on?

Edit: I am also on 10.3.8, and running Adium .77 (or whatever the latest non-beta version is).

I have tried this myself and it doesn't seem to work. I still can't pull up my contact list.

This bug is extremely old, and hasn't been fixed because it is so hard to figure out why it happens. The only way to get your contact list back is a relaunch.

This Seemingly happens to me when gaim crashes, but sometimes that error message is repressed, so nobody is 100% sure why the "disappearing contact list" bug exists.

Look through your Console.log and filter it for Adium. You'll probably see a line telling you what happened in the middle of the night. Tell us what you find, maybe it can be tracked down.

Are you connected?

Does it show up if you log in with the official client? What does the Adium Debug window display [0.80 beta only] when you connect?
The duck still burns.

MSN actually displays my contact list but Adium still won't. I also don't have 0.80 so I can't really respond to your question. Any suggestions???

Hm, without further debug output, it's hard to say. I recommend you back you the folder

Code: Select all

~/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0
and give the Adium 0.80 beta a shot.
The duck still burns.
