Issue 1 - Facebook
---------------------
Facebook does not seem to have ever worked through a proxy. There is an existing TRAC issue, but it keeps getting closed. 1.3.x versions give an error message titled "Unable to read proxy information" (repeatedly) All other apps read my proxy setting correctly, so I do not believe that it is a problem with the .pac file. 1.4.x versions crash outright when the proxy is enabled for Facebook.
Issue 2 - Yahoo Instant Messenger
---------------------------------------
Brand new in 1.4b4 - Yahoo will not connect, complaining that it is unable to make the connection to SSL (sorry, don't have the exact verbiage... Yahoo is required at my job, I had to retreat to 1.3.4 immediately). Figuring that I might be having a problem with the proxy (although I don't think Yahoo connects on port 80, so probably not) I enabled the proxy to see what would happen... immediate crash. Identical to Facebook behavior. 1.4b1 connected to Yahoo just fine. I did not try b2 or b3.
Hope this helps find the source of the errors.

Re: 1.4b4 proxy issues
I'm not entirely sure PAC files work in Adium yet. Debug logging would help, as well as the crash log.ender3 wrote:Issue 1 - Facebook

libpurple 2.6.0, which is what is in 1.4's betas, just switched to a newer version of Yahoo's login system. Debug logging would be especially useful for this.Issue 2 - Yahoo Instant Messenger

Re: 1.4b4 proxy issues
I will re-download 1.4b4 and try to get some logs to you tonight.
If I recall correctly, these are dropping straight back to the desktop, without a normal crash reporter dialog box. Where might I find some useful logs for you?
