Problem logging in as invisible on Yahoo...

Hi! I have Adium 1.4b4 and OSX 10.5.4. I updated Adium yesterday and I haven't been able to sign in as invisible on Yahoo since then. I haven't tried MSN or Gmail chat yet, but I know that I don't have this problem with AIM. When I try to sign in as invisible, my contacts tell me that I'm visible for a few seconds and then I disappear. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Not being able to login in as invisible on Yahoo is a known problem that will have to be sorted out by the Pidgin developers.

My yahoo and msn contacts can still see me even though I have made myself invisible!! My aim contacts say I appear idle. Damn, it's hard to hide! Help me Adium wizards.

Actually, that's a question since I'm new here: does anyone ever read these things who can do anything about problems? I've just posted elsewhere on these forums (http://tinyurl.com/28svh46) about the same problem with Googletalk as well as Yahoo, and then I started wondering: who cares? Apart from crying on one another's shoulders, are we doing anything by writing about problems here? And is it likely that anything will be one about the problems we're documenting?

Sorry for the newbie question. I'm just wondering.

All I can say is that I try to answer questions to the best of my knowledge. If I spot an issue that needs to be addressed I'll forward it to the bug tracker / the developers.

Unfortunately, most users in these forums here have the habit of asking but hardly giving back, i.e. helping other users.

Regarding invisibility with Google Talk, you could have checked for information on the Adium site. In the Adium Wiki article on Google Talk (http://trac.adium.im/wiki/GoogleTalk) invisibility is mentioned in the "Known Issues" section. Also, there are numerous reports in our bugtracker at trac.adium.im which you could have stumbled upon both via the in-site query and a Google search.

Thanks Robby. I did try to find info but obviously I didn't persist long enough! But thanks for the link. I think I need to become more familiar with where to look for what.
