Yahoo warning message

This week, I started getting this warning message (apparently from the Yahoo servers) when starting Adium 1.0.6:
"Warning: This version of Messenger will expire on August 15, 2009. Please upgrade to the latest supported version: http:// messenger.yahoo.com/download"

Does this mean that the version of Adium I am using will also cease to work with Yahoo after August 15?

I'm getting same warning message. I can only go as high as system 10.3.9 on this computer which requires use of no more than Adium 1.0.6. Can 1.0.6 be modified to allow compatibility with a newer version of Yahoo Messenger that still works with OS 10.3.9 so we don't lose contact with this service come August 15? Thanks.

I doubt 1.0.x will see an update, sorry.

I'm not concerned about an update. I just need to know if Adium 1.0.6 is truly going to stop working with Yahoo, or if this is something spit-out by Yahoo's servers that I can ignore. I can always go back to using Yahoo's own messenger. The version that is compatible with OSX 10.3.9 works fine and does not give me the message of impending doom.

We won't know that until, well, it's too late. If you're receiving the message, I'm guessing you'll be affected.

Interesting. It would be interesting to figure out if there is some real technical reason for this impending failure or if it's more a case of the way Adium is identifying itself to the Yahoo servers.

On the 15th and into the 16th, I experienced no problems. I consider the Yahoo! warning FUD.

Yeah. Adium kept on working. Interestingly, Yahoo's own Messenger 3.0 b1 (the last one compatible with 10.3.9) stopped working with their network around the 15th.
