Message windows close

Hi folks,

Now I just know this will be something completely small that I've missed, but please save me from going mad any further. I've been going over the preferences on and off for what must be about 3 weeks now.

I've got my contact list open and I'm online. When I receive an IM, the window of the person who is sending it obviously pops up on screen. I can reply and engage in conversation just fine, but as soon as I click another part of my screen or into another application, the message window disappears leaving me with just my contact list. When the person messages me again, I need to click the Adium dock icon or the contact list window to bring the message window back up to re-engage conversation.

This must be a simple setting I'm just not seeing, surely?!

Please help, my sanity is in your hands!

I don't know if it works, but did you try:
Preferences-> Advanced(most right)-> Messages-> last one at the bottom..change normal in the first one.
My Adium is in Dutch, so I didn't know all the English words.

Thanks for your reply, unfortunately that didn't change anything. :-/
