Uhm...help?

Post by Reikon »

I was using Adium, talking to a friend when I was suddenly kicked off and asked for a password. I entered my password, and it told me it was incorrect. I kicked up the Official AIM client that has my password stored, and it gave me the same error. So I went to a PC computer and it gave me the same error. I went ot AOL's site and entered my name and haven't recieved an e-mail yet. After e-mailing AOL, i'm waiting for an answer. I'll be pissed if they can't get that screenname back.

I don't know if my AIM account was hacked or what?

Any ideas?

Called AOL, and wrote them an E-mail. They said they don't do phone support for AIM because it's a free service, so yay I'm screwed, until and if I recieve an e-mail telling me my password.

Only thing I can think of is someone hacked it and changed the e-mail then password...but why would they do that if they werent' going to use my name, ever?

Hm, that sucks. You can change the registered email once connected... so that's certainly possible. :(

Tried it on Adium, AIM, Windows official AIM and AOL's QuickBuddy.
