Adium for the iPod Touch

Post by AssetBurned »

Hi,

Adium is scriptable. Even sending messages, I guess receiving is also possible (can't find a reference in the AppleScript 1.2 wiki page). So it should be possible to use all this to transfer messages to a webpage and display them on a Touch (or iPhone).

I'm not planing to write an app to allow Adium to use the local mac, while you are away. All I'm looking for is to use my touch instead of the my MacBook or Mini if I am at home. And basically there is already everything I need.

Mac OS has a web server already. So the only things left is a pice of software to take the messages from Adium put them on a Web page and to reply to them.

I guess the first step would be a display only thing. that shows messages received by Adium.

so lets start with this project :-)

okay, i managed to get an apple script to do the following:

if a new message is received find out what the message was, convert the whole chat with that person into HTML and place that into a folder which is accessible by safari on my touch.

ugly as hell, but it works with a lot of known bugs.

so my next step will be to get the communication into the other direction to work.
