Sort buddy list by most often contacted?

Post by chimerical »

Have there been any talks about sorting the Adium buddy list by most often contacted?

Or at least, perhaps a stats window like this?
http://www.sk89q.com/2010/02/interestin ... -pro-logs/

But getting back to the buddy list sorting, it's something that Google Talk (client and Gmail) does very well - prioritizing most frequent contacts. It'd be useful to have as an option in Adium.

Hi,
it has been requested before but has not been implemented by Adium developers. However, on the adiumxtras.com site you'll find the "Sort by Log Size" plugin by Jon Chambers. :)

Thanks for the Xtras tip! As for implementation in Adium, should I file a ticket, or has it been ruled out entirely?

There are a few tickets around, for example http://trac.adium.im/ticket/11673.

Edit: actually, http://trac.adium.im/ticket/3204 is more fitting and a lot older. Your idea is not exotic. ;)

Thanks! I'm a bit concerned about some of the 4-year-old tickets marked as "for later". I'm still relatively new to the scene in that context, but I hope that's not where tickets go to die in oblivion! :)

Development is very slow so that tends to be the case, unfortunately.
