Hi,
Skype release the SkypeKit Beta: http://developer.skype.com/
With the SkypeKit programmers can build in Skype in own applications.
The question is now: Does Adium support Skype in near future?

Re: Skype in Adium?
If someone adds it, yes. But don't count on it at this point, since the project is lacking developers...

Adium might benefit from this: http://eion.robbmob.com/blog/2010/06/24 ... in-pidgin/. Eion Robb is the guy who developed the Skype plugin for Adium.

SkypeKit is now compatible with Mac. Any ideas to integrate this with Adium?

Re: Skype in Adium?
Skype is a proprietary, closed protocol, so someone must reverse-engineer it before third-party clients like Pidgin and Adium can use it. Protocols like OSCAR (AIM) and MSN have already been reverse-engineered, but they're much older than Skype, and reverse-engineering is hard. It will take a long time, and it won't happen at all unless someone chooses to take interest in it and dedicate significant time to the effort.

Re: Skype in Adium?
Skypekit is btw GPL incompatible, and thus unuseable for Adium.

Re: Skype in Adium?
It is a great news that Skype has released SkypeKit and it is very useful because now programmers can build in it in their own applications. The second most valuable thing is it is compatible with Mac now. It is a new information. But the question you put forward …It is a confusing big question now. May or may not be is my answer. If Adium will not support it, then what will be its feature?
