File (~/.twitter) constantly opening in TextEdit

The file ~/.twitter has recently started opening in TextEdit every couple of seconds, completely taking over my screen each time. Help! Here's the contents of the file:

Are you using http://www.adiumxtras.com/index.php?a=x ... ra_id=3484?

Using the built in Twitter protocol on the latest release of Adium. In other words, didn't install a plugin.

Well, I don't think such a file is installed by Adium, so I don't see how this is an issue with Adium.

Wrote too soon, as apparently I had installed TwitterAdium Xtra (what appears to a while ago). With it since uninstalled, this problem has resolved itself. Thanks!
