MSN Frequently Disconnecting & Nickname Issue

Is anyone else experiencing frequent disconnects when using MSN? It keeps disconnecting me and automatically reconnects. This doesnt happen in aMSN and i dont want to use it, its been slow and each time i log in or it disconnects (less frequently than adium) it tried to add all of my contacts to my list again (literally all).

Its pretty sad that its now almost 2011 and msn messenger has been out for about a decade and there is still no proper working application of MSN for mac. I've voiced my concerns about lacking features from msn on adium, particularly transfer speeds, but the nicknames issue is still present. My nickname from MSN on Adium does NOT show correctly on other msn clients, it usually simply says 'kamil' and nothing more.

Are there fixes coming in version 1.4 to address the disconnect and nicknames problem?

I can't connect to MSN at all, suddenly. Both on Adium (newest beta) and Mercury.

I haven't seen this reported frequently.

- Voicing your concern is one thing, contributing is another. Adium and many other third-party clients out there are open source so anyone can help out.

- MSN Transfer speeds will be improved in Adium 1.5.

- The issue of not being able to change your nickname was introduced by a change to the servers by Microsoft. A fix for this will be in 1.4. See my response in the original thread about the issue: http://www.cocoaforge.com/viewtopic.php ... 54#p127354.

That sounds like a server problem, since the issue is independent of client. As with kamil's disconnects, this is not something that has been reported frequently.
