AIM buddy icon doesn't show up

Hey guys,

Yesterday I updated my macbook with a new harddrive and to Snow Leopard. I had to reinstall Adium, and now my AIM buddy icon doesn't show up. It shows in the convos for me, but the person I'm talking to can't see it.

How can I fix this, it's rather annoying.


By the way, I've tried both the newest version of adium (1.4) and also I've tried downgrading to the version I had before where my icon worked (1.3.5)

A new discovery I made while trying to find a way to fix this, maybe it will mean something to you guys, it doesn't to me.

If I sign on AIM my other computer (using 1.3.5 & Tiger) at the same time as I'm signed on my new one, the display works and my contacts can see it. As soon as I sign out of my old one, the new one also disappears.

Anyone know why my display picture only works if I'm signed simultaneously with my old one?

I wrote this in another AIM buddy icon thread. I'll paste here.

I have the same issue. I figured out a work around though. If you login to http://lifestream.aol.com and click on your default pic on the top right of the page, click edit, then it will ask you to upload a file from your computer, do that, then it will stick on the AOL network, and you'll see it on other AIM clients as well.

It's worked for me anyway.
