I saved all my chat logs to a flash drive but i didnt save the entire "adium 2.0" folder from the aplication support but only saved the "logs" folder and all its contents. I dont know what order should i install it so that my old accounts are on again. Do i transfer the log file and that will work or do i have to manually add all my acounts again like it asks when adium is first opened? I still have access to the other computer everything was on but its currently unplugged sitting on the floor =/
Its +6K worth of logs with multiple AIM, MSN and a yahoo account. I just dont want to accidently delete all my logs
sorry if this was asked before but i did a search and this exact question hasnt been asked as far as i saw.
i know i have a lot of questions on here that sound similar but this really is different :/I just need to know how to get adium working again.... i only thought i neded the logs since i could always redo the settings and xtras but i want it to work like it did before with my previous accounts and be able to acess my logs normally as if i never had to move it before =/
(On a side note based on what ive been hearing about the latest adium i suppose i would have to download an earlier version that i used from that MSN problem going on)
Does this clarify any? Sorry about me being a little off.
I have not tried anything yet because I dont know whats supposed to be done first. What I was asking was how am i supposed to transfer the logs to a new computer? Do i transfer before downloading the program or after? before first opening adium or after? I just need to know if the "logs" folder is part of what stores the memory of the accounts because i dont know if manually re-adding the accounts will mess up me adding the chat logs. I want to know if the "logs" is sufficient enough to restore the functionality of adium on the new computer as if i was still on my past one.
You're alright, "prudence is the better part of valour".
- "The "Logs" folder only contain the actual logs, transcripts of your chats.
- You can download Adium, start it up, then quit it and replace the newly-created "Logs" folder by your old one.
- If you set up your accounts, that should not interfere with your logs, I think.
okay thanks. Its just that this imac 27inch acts strangely for a new computer so im being delicate with it and figured it wouldnt like me if i tried to cram thousands of files onto it only to have it accidently write over them again O__o lol
