Only select contacts showing up on my contacts list

I'm not sure how this happened, but only certain people show up on my Adium contacts list, and this is NOT because of "Hide Certain Contacts", but it does seem related in some way.

I'm connecting to my facebook, gmail, yahoo, aim, and msn accounts.

The contacts which do show up either own Adium and are running it at the time, or I can view any offline or mobile contacts through unchecking "Hide Certain Contacts". The problem is, at any given moment, a couple dozen of the "offline" contacts are actually online at the time.

Basically, very few or none of my online contacts show up in the Contacts list. This could be a very dumb way to get ALL of my friends to switch to Adium but I doubt it. Is there a secret, "View online contacts" button? xD

is it possible that you accidently deleted the groups for contacts to apear in? if you did this then they wont have anywhere to appear online to i think.

All the groups I've created still exist. If I have, by any chance deleted any major groups, do you know anyway of reviving them?

More information: I'm running Audium 1.4.1 on two computers. Both are Macs.

Any information would be much appreciated!

So farquhaar turned up in #adium and it turned out he hadn't made the Facebook change so all of his Facebook contacts weren't showing up.
