way to tell if a contact blocked me?

Is there a way to check if a contact blocked me via msn? would just sending a message bring me an error if i was blocked? or is there another way?

EDIT: I do know under get info it says "blocked" and yes or no but it seems to only indicate if 'I' blocked them not the other way around. The deleted doesnt seem reliable because some people that swear im on their list show up saying they dont have me. =/

Hm. I don't think that blocking on MSN actually prohibits you from IMing someone. It just makes them alway show as offline to you. I know because someone had me blocked on MSN (gasp) and I was still able to IM them despite being blocked, they just never showed up as online for me. And vice versa, I had someone blocked and they were still able to IM me.
I don't think it works for other IM clients though. I know that AIM will not allow you to message someone you have blocked.
