Can't connect to gtalk. "Initializing Stream (25%)"

I updated to 10.6.6 this morning, and now Adium won't connect to my googletalk account. In the Accounts preference pane, it simply says "Initializing Stream (25%)" and sits there forever. I've searched for this error and found several supposed fixes: enable/disable the account, delete/recreate the account, mess with ports and SSL options.. none of these have worked. Have even uninstalled Adium and all its preference and support files, and no dice, not to mention several shutdowns and reboots. I still connect fine via the web interfaces (both gmail and the standalone gtalk page).

EDIT: I checked the console logs, and nothing shows up related to this. I have a few messages from when I re-installed Adium, but that's it.

Note that this is from my re-install; this problem started about 8:45a. No new messages appear in the console when I start Adium now, or close it, or try and connect, or anything.

I'm having the exact same trouble. I updated to 10.6.6 this morning, and after installing the update and rebooting, I'm getting the same error, with none of the solutions nunix mentioned working for me either.

I'm having the same problem.

Actually, I realized I actually haven't upgraded to 10.6.6 yet -- I'm still on 10.6.5. Google Talk fails to login, stalls at initializing stream 25%. So it may not be related to the OS X version upgrade.

And now it appears to be working again. Did another shutdown, let it sit for ten minutes, came back up.. and Adium is working again. Still no console messages, so I have no idea what the issue is; obviously something in the system update hosed. Try a shutdown-and-walk-away and come back later and see if it's all sorted.

Mine's working as well, and I didn't restart or anything. Must have been some issue on Google's end that's now resolved.
