Newbie question about Alias

Hi,

I just started using Adium since last month. Quick question regarding the aliases associated with the accounts I set up. When I chat to people, do they see my alias or do they see my actual email address if they're using a 'native' client - say Yahoo Messenger for a Yahoo Account.
