Messages sent to cel phone instead of MSN Messenger

I just set up Adium on my new Mac and imported my MSN Messenger account. The problem I'm having is that messages are automatically sent to my contact's cel phone number instead of their MSN Messenger window, even if they are signed in to messenger on their computer. How can I fix this?
