Lovely piece of software, this Vienna Reader.
One basic feature I would like see is search term highlighting when searching the articles within Vienna.
When you search for a word or phrase, either in the system-wide search box, or the feed-specific search box (filter), Vienna finds the relevant articles containing that word or phrase, but Vienna does not highlight your search word or phrase within these articles.
It would be great if this feature were added to Vienna.
It is very useful to see the your search term highlighted; it is an important productivity feature.
Search Term Highlighting When Searching
Re: Search Term Highlighting When Searching
By the way, a good example of an RSS reader that nicely highlights the appropriate search words within articles is the Omea Reader. There is only a PC version, unfortunately.
If you want an example of this search term highlighting in action, you might want to download the freeware Omea Reader, if you happen to have a PC:
http://www.jetbrains.com/omea/download/reader.html
It's compatible with Windows 98/ME/NT/2000/3/XP.2/Vista/Windows 7.
I have looked at quite a few freeware Mac RSS readers, but none seem to do search word highlighting - not even Apple's RSS readers built into Mail and Safari do search word highlighting, which is a bit of an omission from Apple, since Safari does excellent search word highlighting on ordinary web apges.
I often need to sift for info from a large archive of old RSS articles, and have been looking for a Mac-based RSS reader that has a fast article search, with search word highlighting in the found articles.

Hi Salvatore
Sorry I did not see your question when you originally posted it.
To answer you question: YES! I am definitely still very interested in search term highlighting in Vienna.
Just to explain this again: search term highlighting is a function not presently available in Vienna. Search term highlighting is when Vienna not only lists the articles containing the word or phrase you are searching for, but also highlights your search word or phrase within the text of the listed articles.
I love Vienna, and use it for searching through lots of RSS articles. When I do a search, Vienna finds the articles fast, but it always takes me a minute or two to find the actual word I am searching for within the text of each article.
If you are searching through many long RSS articles, it begins to take a lot of time, because in each article you have to scan the entire text with your eyes to find where the word you are searching for appears.
If the search word were highlighted, then you would see it immediately in the text of the article.
I really would be most grateful if you could include this search term highlighting function in Vienna soon!!
