msn status messages request

Post by digital.chill »

As msn has no real proper status message support (I think?) other than the usual away, on the phone, out to lunch (who came up with those... lol, anyhow on the official MSN client they appear as such)... it would be awesome if adium had the ability to append my away message to my msn name, and remove it once more when I'm no longer in away mode.

Someone once told me an MSN name is like a 25 word blog of whats happening in your life, heh. Would be nice to add a few words about why I'm away, nice and easily :)

I think you can do that by appending %_statusMessage to your MSN display name.

Other than that, yeah the "Do not disturb" stuff is on the sticky.

Preferences -> Accounts -> click the MSN account that you want to change -> Advanced tab -> add %_statusMessage wherever you want in the Alias field.

I think the "%_statusMessage" displays the same way. I set my status messages from my mac but looking at the real MSN client from one of my windows pc's and when i changed my status it would look the same as if i was using MSN :D

Is there something like this for AIM, too?

No, we do not support "available messages" on AIM. That has been discussed MANY times before.
