Growl notifications are stuck on permanently

Post by dtemp »

So you know how you can open a contact's info, click the Alerts tab, and add a Growl notification under "contact signs on" so you are alerted when they sign on? I've used this feature occasionally to tell me when someone comes online that I want to talk to. Usually I make the notification sticky, and have it delete after the event occurs.

Well, something got screwed up, because it now indiscriminately gives me a sticky notification for everyone that signs on, but only about 20% of the time for a given contact. There is nothing listed in the Alerts tabs for any of the contacts. I tried making alerts and hoping after they triggered once, that the situation would reset. But I can't get Adium to stop popping up growl notifications every few minutes! I'd greatly prefer not to delete all of Adium's info in ~/Library and start over. Is there a single file that alert info is stored in that I can reset or something?

Oh, the reason I don't turn off Growl notifications entirely is because I like seeing notifications about actual instant messages.

Have you checked the global "Events" preferences?
