When I'm viewing an article and click its headline in the viewing pane, then choose "open link in new tab" it automatically takes me to that tab. This forces me to go back to the main page of articles to keep browsing. Instead, I would like to browse through the multiple articles, selecting a few to read fully in their own tabs when I'm done, exactly the same way as firefox and safari use that function. If I wanted to read the article right now, I would use "open link" and read it right there.
Will you consider modifying the behaviour of "open link in new tab" so that it creates a new tab, loads the page in it, and leaves the user on the current page?
Thanks,
Steve
Feature request - open link in new tab
Re: Feature request - open link in new tab
To get what you want, check "Open new links in the background" in Preferences.
Are you sure it is Safari's default behavior ? If so, I'll align Vienna's default to it.

Thanks, that did the trick! I'm 99.5% sure that is the default behaviour in Safari.
