How to increase the chat view font size

I am working on a Mac with dual 27" screens and it's really hard to read the chat. I can increase the font that I type, but how do I increase the font in the chat window and user list?

Preferences, Messages, "Text Display" allows you to increase the font size of the message window (there may be old styles where changing this does't work, though).

Preferences, Appearance, List Layout, "Customize" allows you to increase the font size of the contact list.
