Vienna Crashed and can't be started again

Hi Everyone,

I was the happy user of Vienne in the past week and then badaboum the Crash
So here are the details of the story:

1) I dowloaded Vienna 1 week ago and I am not sure which version I got, I think it was the 2.5

2) Today i decided to set it up for real and I started to ad all the RSS feeds I was interested in. During this job the soft ask permission for an update which I did. Then i could continue to ad RSS feed until a certain point where it stopped adding any RSS. I first thought the problem was coming from the web site and I tried with other with the same result: Vienna would not ad any of those.

3) I ultimatly decided to shut down Vienna and since then i never managed to relaunch it... I restarted the computer, tried to launch Vienna directly from the Application folder, I tried to download it again and nothing is happening. The logo on the Dock will make few jumps and then stops..

So here are 2 questions:
1) how can i get Vienna back to work ?
2) HOw can i retrieve all the RSS that I already put in Vienna ?

If you were on 2.5, you were probably upgraded to 2.6 (use Finder's Get Info to check).

Delete the preferences file ~/Library/Preferences/uk.co.opencommunity.vienna2.plist and try to relaunch

Hi Barijaonna,

Thansk for your help. So I deleted the file you mentioned and all that happened was that a Vienna window appeared prompting me if Vienna should automatically search for Updates. I tried both possibilities (yes and No) and nothing happens.
I looked for the Vienna version and that is was I have: 3.0b.2821
Any other idea ?

I am afraid you encountered a problem with your database... Thanks to advices given by a cocoaforge user, I hope it will be fixed in the next beta, but I am not 100% sure.

If there is no sensitive information, I would be really interested in having a look at your ~/Library/Application Support/Vienna/messages.db file...

If you are just eager to start over, just trash this file.

I have the same issue. The messages.db is indeed corrupt, fixing the corruption (by dumping / importing with sqlite3) doesn't work.

I should precise that the DB was created one of the beta versions, not sure which one though.
