Migrating from Fire to Adium

Post by yon »

Has anyone dealt with migrating chat history from Fire to Adium? I keep my logs around because I conduct conversations with clients and would like to migrate them so I don't have to keep Fire around to view them. I could write a script but if someone has already done so that would save me a lot of time.

Thanks,
yon.

Thanks for the pointer. I tried the script out, but there are several problems with it, it doesn't seem to be complete. Here are the issues I have ran into so far:

1. It migrates assuming a single Fire account.
2. It only migrates the latest conversation for a contact for a particular day. This is because Fire uses full timestamps in the filename and Adium only the date.
3. It does not migrate the content of the chat log files.

Are there plans to continue work on this script?

I am actually working on a full-on migration application for all the "big" chat clients out there. It's getting there, but with work, and the baby, my time is kinda limited. :?

Any progress on this? I still have a ton of non-migrated Fire logs.

This is targeted at 1.0.

However, the script doesn't appear to change anything in the files at all, just move them around. You could potentially do it by hand if you can't wait.
