Auto-refresh scrolls active window back to top

Post by cpbrooksy »

This is a new experience after updating to Beta 11. While I'm going through a feed, it will refresh (auto-refreshes every 5min) scrolling the window to the top at which point I have to scroll back down to where I was. It previous releases the feed count would update, but the active window wouldn't show new articles until it its feed was clicked off of and back onto again. This is preferable because it isn't disruptive.

Yes, we had to revert some things, because there was a risk that users unintentionally mark new posts as read.

This is harmless with Report and Condensed layouts, which are now able to correctly handle the notion of article currently being read, but Unified layout is not yet as sophisticated on these issues… So, if you refresh every 5 minutes, consider using the Condensed layout.
