Permanently stop Adium being default for IChat

Post by DannoUK »

Is there a way to permanently stop Adium being the defult application for any AIM links on web pages. I would perfer Ichat to open on clicking these links. I change it use a default apps setting in the system prefs but each time Adium starts it takes it back again. Any thoughts?

I think both Adium and iChat register themselves as the default IM handlers when each respective application launches, so if iChat is the most recently launched IM client, it should be the default.

There is a preference pane-which I recently trashed...so I've kinda forgotten, I think it's called something like "Default app" or "Default application x" something along those lines, should be on macupdate. It gives you a list of file types and link handler's and which apps are assigned to them, so you can set it from here and it will ensure it stays the way you want it.
