Growl alert saying a user is back when it disconnects.

Post by Gorian »

I have Growl alerts set for a group to notify me of people connecting and being back. However I've just noticed that when one of my buddies disconnects I get an alert than he/she is back.

This is with Adium 0.81 on OS X 10.4. Is it an isolated problem or should I file a ticket for it?

I've gotten that alert many times as well. I even think I've brought it up before (can't remember, lol). I wish Adium (or Growl, if it is Growl's problem) knew how to 100% differentiate between a contact going offline as being different from a contact coming back from away. If this could be fixed, along with the 100s of Growl notifications I get of "__ signed on" when I sign on initially- then Growl would be perfect in Adium. :)
I'm... kinda tired... I think I'll go home now.

whenever a contact who is away disconnects, growl is sent a "contact came back" trigger immediately followed by a "contact disconnected" trigger. this is due to the inner workings of the status system as it exists currently, as far as i know. it is a minor issue, but i'm pretty sure the devs know about it and it will be addressed sometime.
