GAIM errors (Connecting to Yahoo)

Post by rosesanguina »

Has anyone else been having problems with connecting to Y!M recently? I've been getting GAIM errors since early yesterday and have had to fiddle with server and port every time I've tried to connect since then, though once I do manage to make a connection, it seems fairly stable. Any ideas what's going on? Is Yahoo! changing their servers around again?

I posted on http://www.adiumx.com earlier this morning:

There are currently problems connecting via Adium to the default Yahoo server, resulting in the error "Unable to read." A temporary workaround is to change the Login Server to scsdcntest-c.msg.yahoo.com in the Options tab of each Yahoo account's preferences.
The duck still burns.

I had something weird happen with this..
I was connected fine..
then my 10.3.9 did a software update, rebooted and now yahoo wont connect. This is what updated: itunes, java, security and quicktime.
Maybe that will help..

I've had the same problem - and i tried everything...
reinstalling
restarting
checked prefs 3 times

I'm working on a 700MHz G3 iBook running 10.3.8; I've been hesitant to update to 10.3.9 or to install 10.4 because I run a few 3D apps that aren't happy with the new OS versions.... and now Adium is mucking around....

i am a less than happy camper at the moment.
nothing looks the same through a camera lense
